Wild Arts – Messiah: George Frideric Handel
Concerts & Events
On Saturday December 9th at 7.30pm, by kind permission of the Vicar of St Michael and All Angels Bedford Park, Wild Arts presents Handel’s iconic oratorio composed in 1741. Directed by Orlando Jopling, the concert will be performed on period instruments.
“Wild Arts’ opera evenings are of a breathtakingly high, ROH-level musical standard – a gorgeous quintet of musicians and a most cunning choice of excerpts, mischievously well acted. I’d follow them anywhere.” – Theatre critic Libby Purves. Read the feature on The Chiswick Calendar.

At the start of a short pre-Christmas tour (including Chichester Cathedral), Wild Arts present Handel’s legendary retelling of the story of Christ – from the annunciation of the shepherds at the start of the Christmas story, to the passion, the resurrection, and the day of judgement. The period specialist players of the Wild Arts Ensemble perform alongside a selection of the UK’s finest singers.
