St Michael’s invites a wide range of outside clergy to preach at its major services, supplementing the fine preaching of its own team – Father Kevin Morris, our vicar (picture 1 above); our associate vicar Father Fabrizio Pesce; our curates Fr Edward Barlow (picture 2 above) and Mother Sarah Lenton; Father Graham Morgan and Father Neil Evans, our honorary assistant priests; our Reader and subdeacon, Anne Mower; and our subdeacon Graham Holderness.
In 2015 our visiting preachers include Father Michael Bowie, Assistant Priest at All Saints, Margaret Street for The Baptism of Our Lord; Rt Revd Graeme Knowles, Hon Assistant Bishop of Ipswich and St Edmundsbury for Candlemass & Blessing of our new Icons; Rt Revd Paul Williams, Bishop of Kensington for our Confirmation service; Revd Dr Christina Beardsley, Chaplain of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital for the Easter Triduum, Canon Nicola Stanley, Precentor of Bristol Cathedral for Corpus Christi; Fr Lindsay McKenna, Vicar of St Andrew the Apostle, Catford for our Mass on the Green; and Fr Nick Mercer, Vicar General for the London College of Bishops for our Feast of Title.
In 2014 our visiting preachers included: Rt Revd Paul Williams, the Bishop of Kensington, for our Confirmation service; Canon Jeremy Davies, former Canon Precentor of Salisbury Cathedral, for our Mass on the Green; Canon Leanne Roberts, Treasurer of Southwark Cathedral, for Corpus Christi; the former Archbishop of Canterbury, the Rt Revd. and Rt Hon. Lord Williams of Oystermouth for Fr Kevin’s 25th Anniversary Choral High Mass; and Rt Revd. Michael Marshall, Hon Asst. Bishop in the Diocese of London, for our Patronal Festival Sunday and Feast of Title.
