The Choristers

The Choristers are led by Jonathan Dods and Vicky Brooke. They are trained along the lines of a cathedral choir, gaining an understanding of musicianship and worship in a fun and engaging way.

Worship

The Choristers lead the music at the Family Masses during term time (usually on the first Sunday of the month). They are also sometimes called upon to read the prayers and lesson during this service.

Good Fun

Rehearsals start with 10 mins to catch up with friends and have a snack before the singing begins. At the end of the rehearsal treats are awarded for contributing during the rehearsal by answering questions as well as singing.

Responsibility

We encourage the more experienced choristers to help the newer recruits in the practices and services. All new Choristers always have someone more experienced to stand next to.

Commitment

Choristers are expected to attend rehearsals on Tuesday evenings during term time from 6pm – 7pm in the Church. On singing Sundays, they are required from 9am – 1130am (Mass starts at 10am).

Other events

The Choristers sing in the Bedford Park Festival each year and last year joined with the Choir of St Michael’s to sing Evensong at St John’s Holland Road.

Joining

Children aged 7 -15 interested in joining the choir should contact Jonathan Dods in the first instance and are encouraged to come along to a rehearsal to try it out. There are no formal auditions and we encourage children to sing in the services as soon as possible.
