CRIB SERVICE for CHILDREN
Children > Services
Christ’s Crib is the central focus of the Children’s Service that is held at 4pm on Christmas Eve. For many people in Chiswick, this is the real start of Christmas!
We have a congregation of several hundred – including youngsters (many dressed magnificently as angels, shepherds or kings), parents, visitors and friends – as we tell the Nativity story. The service lasts just 40 minutes and is a proper Christmas service – not a carol concert – with readings by members of our Children’s Church and two verses of each of the best-known carols. See Photo Gallery.
Try to get there early, because the church gets packed – but the doors will not usually be opened before 3.30pm.
We don’t allow people to stand in the aisles, because they would block the view of those sitting in the pews, and buggies must be left in the porch. But lots of people stand at the back of the church – and the front three rows of seats are reserved for children.
