St Michael and All Angels Church, Bedford Park

Planned Giving

Planned Giving allows tax-paying members of the congregation to make a more valuable financial contribution to the church. Each participant decides at the start of each year what is an appropriate amount to give to St Michael and All Angels’ Church on a monthly, quarterly or annual basis. This regular commitment allows the PCC to plan the parish finances in advance, in the knowledge that there is secure financing for the church to maintain and expand its ministry.

The money received, plus the tax reclaimed, is used: to support our ever widening ministry, to increase pastoral care, to fulfil our commitment to charitable giving, and to meet the ever-increasing costs of maintaining the fabric of our beautiful church building. It also contributes towards the central Diocesan Fund for the maintenance of ministry in the diocese, and helps churches in less fortunate circumstances.

In 2006, income from Planned Giving, including tax relief, increased to £85,066 - up from £76,246 in 2005. However, some 75% of this sum pledged, almost £64,000, was taken up by our contribution to the Diocesan Fund, leaving a little over £21,000 to assist in covering all the other aspects of church expenditure.
