Rautio Trio: Celebrating Shakespeare after 400 years

On Thursday April 14th at 7.30pm, Shakespeare is the theme of the second in a new series of one-hour family-friendly concerts at St Michael & All Angels, curated by the award-winning Rautio Trio.

This special concert features a vivid selection of music on the theme of Shakespeare set alongside some well-known monolgues read by our guest actor, Dallas Campbell. Beethoven’s famously atmospheric ‘Ghost’ Trio, Corelli’s virtuosic ‘La Follia’ violin variations, ‘After Reading Shakespeare’ by Ned Roram for solo cello and other pieces all inspired by Shakespeare. It’s a feast of music!

Programme includes:
Corelli La Follia variations for violin
Beethoven ‘Ghost’ Trio in D Op. 70/1 Largo assai & presto
Mendelssohn Nocturne from a ‘Midsummer Night’s Dream’ Incidental Music Op.61
Ned Roram ‘After Reading Shakespeare’ Ned Roram for solo cello
Korngold Masquerade from ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ Suite for violin & piano

This is a special concert to support the Dorothy Croft Trust for Young Musicians.

All welcome! Four more concerts to take place as part of this series each month until July. Details
