Advent and Christmas at St Michael & All Angels

Do join us over Advent and Christmas at St Michael & All Angels – for cards, carols, concerts, charities and worship! And if you don’t already receive our weekly events newsletter, you can see this edition – and sign up for your own copy – here.

Advent is the Church’s New Year and, leading up to Christmas, it’s a wonderful season at St Michael & All Angels. Our Cards for Good Causes shop is open in the Church until December 15th, from 11am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday (except Wednesday – when it opens at 1pm, after Mass – or when there are special services). Please note that the shop will close at 4pm on December 15th. You can help more than 30 charities by buying cards, Advent calendars and other goods at the shop, and you can also buy St Michael’s own wall calendar there.

You can open the doors on St Michael & All Angels Advent Calendar in aid of our Christmas Charity Appeal, ‘opening doors for people in need’. Click on a new door  each day till December 24th. Thank you to the 24 children who have created the pictures – you can see the originals in the Advent Calendar in the church – and to our sponsors.

This year our Appeal is raising money for Msaada, helping people in Rwanda; The Upper Room, helping those in need in Shepherds Bush; and The Mulberry Centre, helping those affected by cancer. You can find out how to contribute here – and we shall be singing carols outside Turnham Green tube station from 5.30 to 7.30pm on Wednesday December 14th.

And do join us for our concerts and services this month. There are seven concerts for adults and children in December, starting with lunchtime organ music at 12.30pm this Friday December 2nd, followed by the Chiswick Choir concert on Saturday 3rd and the West London Sinfonia children’s concert at 3pm on Sunday 4th. We have services every day, and you’ll be particularly welcome at our Nine Lessons and Carols Service at 6.30pm on Sunday December 18th; the Children’s Crib Service at 4pm on Christmas Eve; Midnight Mass at 11.55pm; and the Choral Mass of Christmas Day at 10am.
