1. On Saturday November 19th, at 7.30pm at St Michael & All Angels, it's the World Premiere of John Carmichael's Concierto Folklorico, performed by the Patrick Noronha Camerata. A Chiswick resident for 40 years, John received the Medal of the Order of Australia in the Queen's Birthday Honours this year. Conductors: Patrick Noronha and Michael Nebe; Piano Duo: Anne Applin and Geoffrey Pratley; Leader/Violin: Orpheus Papafilippou.

4. A reminder that the Cards for Good Causes shop at St Michael's passes 75p in every pound to more than 35 charities. It is open from Monday to Saturday, 11am to 5pm, every day except Wednesday when it opens at 1pm. 5. On Thursday November 24th, at 7.30pm in St Nicholas Church, Church Street, W4, the former Vicar of Chiswick, Rev. Prebendary Patrick Tuft, will give a talk on the 1611 King James Bible, in this the 400th anniversary of its publication. There will be readings from the 1611 publication by members of the St Nicholas Church congregation. This event is organised by the Friends of St Nicholas Church. Suggested entrance donation: £5.

6. On Saturday November 26th, at 7.30pm at St Michael & All Angels, Chiswick Choir & Orchestra present In Memoriam. * Eclogue for Piano and Strings - Gerald Finzi; For the Fallen - Cyril Bradley Rootham; Ein Deutsches Requiem - Johannes Brahms. 7. Sunday November 27th is Advent Sunday, the start of the Church's New Year.

The first door in St Michael's Advent Calendar will be opened in the church at the end of the service. This year, the 24 pictures have been painted by local artists and will be auctioned in aid of St Michael's Advent Calendar & Christmas Appeal. Details of St Michael's Christmas Appeal will be revealed on December 1st, when the Advent Calendar opens online.
8. Also on Sunday 27th, at 11.45am, there's a screening of Torin Douglas's video diary of last year's Pilgrimage to the Holy Land - a musical extravaganza, featuring members of the congregation in Jerusalem, Nazareth and Bethlehem, floating on the Dead Sea, braving Lazarus's Tomb and the cable car to Masada, and sailing on the Sea of Galillee. Not to be missed, if you're thinking of going on next year's Pilgrimage - and even if you're not!
It's followed by a Parish Lunch at 12.30, upstairs in the Parish Hall, with a collection in aid of St Michael's Christmas Appeal. All are welcome, particularly families - if you're planning to come, or would like to contribute food, please sign the list at the back of the church or reply to this e-mail.

The first Chiswick House Camellia Festival continues till March 20th, from 10am to 3pm each day, celebrating probably the oldest Camellia Collection in the western world. 3. 4. On Saturday March 12th at 7.30pm in St Michael & All Angels Church, there's a choral concert by Collegium Musicum (London Chamber Choir), led by BBC-award-winning conductor Russell du Plessis. 5. From Sunday March 13th, throughout Lent, the charities group at St Michael's will be holding Lent lunches in aid of this year's nominated charities. If you can host a lunch on March 13th, 20th, 27th or April 10th, please contact Mary Chapman via the Parish Office on 020 8994 1380.

From Tuesday March 15th, at 7.30pm during Lent, in the Church of Our Lady of Grace & St Edward, Chiswick High Road, five leading speakers will reflect on Pope Benedict's invitation to live our faith in a fresh way: “LIVING OUR FAITH TODAY, The legacy of the Papal visit to the UK”. On Tuesday March 15th, Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O'Connor will speak on The Pilgrim Path to Christian Unity". Supported by Chiswick Churches for Justice & Peace. All welcome.

9. On Saturday March 19th, at 7.30pm, the Chiswick Horticultural Society holds its Quiz Night at the CHS Trading Centre in Staveley Road (entrance opp. Chiswick Community School). Tickets £15 each (to include light supper and half a bottle of wine/soft drink if preferred). It’s a fun night and questions are fast and furious. On Thursday March 24th, from 7 to 9.30pm at Waterstone's in Chiswick High Road, there's another 'Chiswick Book Festival Extra', to launch George Goodwin's new book, 'Fatal Colours: Towton, 1461 - England's Most Brutal Battle'. In the week of the 550th anniversary, George will be in conversation with Tracy Borman, author of 'Elizabeth's Women' - who spoke at the first Chiswick Book Festival. 13. On Saturday April 9th, at 7.30pm, at St Michael & All Angels Church, Chiswick Choir will present ‘Mozart: 1791 - His Final Year’. The programme features the much loved Requiem Mass in a new version completed and edited by the erudite American Mozart specialist, Robert Levin. 1. On Sunday January 9th, at 10am, there's a Parish Mass and Baptism at St Michael & All Angels. It's the start of the new term for the creche and children's church (Breakfast Club resumes on January 16th, for young people aged 11 years plus).

On Sunday January 16th, from 3 to 5pm, at the Kitchen Garden at Chiswick House, Abundance London and Chiswick House & Garden Trust are organising a wassailing event, to celebrate the planting of over 200 new fruit trees in the walled gardens... 6. On Monday January 17th, in Ealing, there's the start of a "Learn-to-Sing Barbershop" course for men, run by Capital Chorus. You don't have to be able to read music. It's on five Monday evenings, from 7:45 to 10:15 pm, finishing with a concert for friends and family in the fifth week. Cost for the course £10. 8. On Saturday January 22nd from 10am-1pm, The London Fairtrade Diocese Campaign holds a half-day Conference, ‘Getting There Together’. It's at Interchurch House, Lower Marsh SE1 7RT (home of Christian Aid, close to Waterloo Station). Presentations from Veronica Pasteur, Head of Campaigns at Fairtrade Foundation, and four very different Fairtrade Churches. Free admission including coffee and biscuits. She'll be signing books and also previewing her new book, out this summer, which will be featured at the Chiswick Book Festival in 2011.
